Francis Weiss Rabkin is a playwright and television writer. Francis co-founded the performance collective Tight Braid Group. Plays and collaborations with musicians, poets, and choreographers have been presented in Philadelphia, Chicago, and in New York at HERE Arts, Dixon Place, Bushwick Starr, the Prelude Festival, and The Brick. Francis is honored to have received residencies at Abrons Art Center, the Millay Colony, the Drama League of New York, and the Wassaic Project. In 2016-17, Francis was a 2050 Fellow at the New York Theatre Workshop. Won’t Be A Ghost (2016) received a production grant from the Arch & Bruce Brown Foundation, and was listed as an honorable mention by The Kilroys List. Francis has taught performance workshops at Abrons Art Center and Wesleyan University. Francis’s first play, at age 13, won the Pegasus Players’ Young Playwrights Festival, and is still performed by Pegasus Players in classrooms across Chicago as a teaching tool.
